Aconitum napellus benefits acute conditions of sudden onset with fever. Best taken at first sign of symptoms, it helps relieve a red, dry, sore throat with difficult swallowing, a hoarse, dry, croupy cough with oppressed breathing and a feeling of chilliness rising throughout the body especially when the head and face feel hot.

Allium cepa helps relieve colds with copious watery, burning nasal discharge accompanied by sneezing, watery eyes, headache and cough with tickling sensation in the throat.

Arnica montana helps relieve a sore nose especially when the tip feels cold, stinging sore throat, spasmodic cough with bloodshot eyes and a sore, painful, bruised feeling in the body.

Arum triphyllum helps relieve mucous membranes of the nose, mouth, throat and chest when they feel painfully sore, inflamed, raw and burning with copious, acrid discharges.

Eupatorium perfoliatum helps relieve dry, stopped nose with sneezing, dry, sore throat and aching pains in the body.

Ferrum phosphoricum is most beneficial when taken at the first sign of colds. It helps relieve mild fever, throbbing headache, first signs of nasal congestion, sore throat on waking and short, painful, tickling cough which tends to be worse at night.

Gelsemium sempervirens helps relieve cold symptoms that develop slowly and as accompanied by a sensation of heaviness and pressure in the body.

Histaminum helps relieve painful dryness of the nose, blocked nose and bronchial congestion.

Rhus toxicodendron is a homoeopathic remedy that benefits symptoms that come one after getting cold and are worse for cold or wet. The headache is better for wrapping up the head, the dry, tickling sore throat is worse for cold drinks and the short, irritating cough is worse at night and for uncovering.
